Starting out in the art realm from 8 years old, drawing was always a strength and favorite medium of mine. Art eventually landed me in college where I majored in Visual Communication. The experience in both graphic design and fine art, taught me how to see light. When you have a pencil or chalk in your hand, and you're able to see shape and form between light and shadow; being able to render that onto a piece of paper becomes a natural transition into photography, because that's what it's all about...the light. Once I started to see how photography was being applied to graphic design, this became my primary focus. I studied under the classical photography style back in the film days, and I still apply aspects of that to my work, throwing in some graphic design elements as far as composition. My favorite photographers include landscape photographer Ansel Adams, documentary photographer David Plowden, street photographer Saul Leiter, commercial photographer Peter Coulson, and sports photographers Dave Black and Mark Rebilas.
